What if it did work?
So many people still are the it dont work here mindset. But what if it did work! What would it mean to your family and farm even friends? If you simply were able to eliminate fall tillage and most of spring was single pass or no till would you be less stressed? More time to see kids events or make it to a friends picnic? Date night with spouse?
What if it worked and your tractors lasted longer? Made a few dollars more per acre. How would that change your farm?
I have noticed a few things in my travels in southern Minnesota, and into Iowa this summer.
That there is a lot more minimal / no-till beans into corn ground. Meaning that I notice more residue above the ground than below.
2nd with all the guys who do multiple tillage trips, why they don't switch to a strip till machine? That would be a big time and money saver.
I wonder that myself. why not switch to strip till to manage fertilizer and reduce costs.
yes in my territory in wi. there is a lot of no till.
