How do the model year dates work on the 3020 Deeres? are they like cars and the 1965 came out in july of 1964? or are they true years?

Im going to start looking for my Grampas 3020. He bought it new, it was delivered in September of 1965. Unfortunately, don't have a SN. Gonna try and see if the dealer may have something.

It was delivered in September but did he order from the factory or was it on the dealership lot for a while?

I thought tractor data or one of them websites had a breakdown on the serial numbers.

I bought the H I did because the trail of my grandpa's ran cold.

I dont know, ill have to ask my Grama and see if she remembers.

I know he demoed a 3020 from a different dealer that was farther away in the spring. (cant remember the dealer off hand) The salesman called and wanted to bring it out. He drove it the whole way to the farm, a substantial distance. It had a mounted 3x16 plow with it and he left it with my grampa for the weekend. He ended up buying his 3020 powershift from out local dealer, Cope Farm Equipment.

Tractor data does have the serial number list, but i don't have the original number. I was mostly wondering if it was possible for a September 65 delivered tractor to be a 66 model year, kinda like a car could be. My gut says its probably a 65 maybe a 64.

3020 delivery

this was posted last night. Could be a match

@massey-1100

The one on craigslist was a dead end. has a Xichagan dealer sticker. I got excited for a minute till i found that out. call it the thrill of the chase.

Hunting down family tractors can be quite a chore. I have a 2000 id part with if your search comes up empty. its a 1964 i think? has a loader, used to belong to an oil well company.
