Grew up tie stall. Milked for others in the stall. Thought it was ok until I learned what a parlor was. Much more healthy on the cows and easier on both man and animal. Loafing shed and pasture work well with parlor. Small parlor on the end of loafing shed would be my dream setup. Bad weather. (November-May) cows would be in shed. Have crowd lane and feed alley.

Parlour we had a stall and tore it out for a parlour in 2009 life changing moment. I'm with Jon a parlour in the end of a cow shed would be ideal our system is a bit all over the place but our cows only stay in the shed for a few months any way and there dry for most of that time

My vote is Parlor, nice to have the udder at head height until that first calf heifer who too forever to get in almost takes your head off.
